If you mention a horse with extreme movements, you are talking about Flanagan. It’s amazing how he lifts his legs. Soon Rachael will start competing with this eyecatcher at higher levels.
Flanagan has an immense talent and big movements, but because of that he really needed the time to handle everything in his body. When he arrived at Moonstone Stables he needed to learn how to use his body in the right way. Some horses require a very delicate way to develop their body’s because they just offer you too much. Flanagan was such a horse. For him it was really important to bring him up slowly so he could handle the training in his body and mind. With such a horse the danger lies into going too fast.
We didn’t rush him, but always had the faith that he would be an amazing horse. He went a few times to some smaller competitions, but just to practice and to train somewhere else. His results were very well and he was really willing to be guided in the competition, only he needs to learn to relax his body a little more. He’s Rachael’s little gem who will blow everyone away one day.
In the stables he is such a sweet and gentle horse who really likes to get a lot of attention. When he doesn’t get it, he can be a little impatient, but if you are busy with him it’s the most adorable horse you could wish for.
At this moment Flanagan does everything from the big tour. It’s just a matter of time to stabilize everything before Rachael will take him with her on competitions again so he can show his talents to everyone. Something he really likes to do.
