Rachael Ivtsan’s journey into the world of dressage began relatively late, yet her passion and dedication have propelled her to remarkable success. In 2004, she visited the Netherlands to purchase a horse, but this marked the beginning of a deeper connection. Rachael kept returning to train with the esteemed Bert Rutten, where she gained the foundational skills needed to compete at the highest levels. Her first Grand Prix partner, Falco, became the embodiment of her commitment and learning.
A pivotal moment in Rachael’s career came when a friend introduced her to Sandro Success, a remarkable horse sired by Sandro Hit. Despite their eventual success, the journey was far from easy. “I couldn’t have wished for a better schoolmaster than Sandro,” Rachael reflects, acknowledging the challenges. “He was an amazing mirror and taught me how to truly train horses.” Now retired from competition, Sandro remains the king of her stables, a testament to the bond they share.
Rachael’s training philosophy is grounded in fairness and empathy. She believes every horse deserves an honest chance and works tirelessly to bring out their full potential. Over the years, she has trained with accomplished professionals such as Bert Rutten, Alex van Silfhout, and Rieky Young, refining her skills and approach. Her experience includes training horses to all levels, including Grand Prix, with notable names like Glamour Times, Fleetwood Mac, and Edie.
Today, Rachael offers bespoke services, including horse purchase consultancy and training for both horse and rider across all levels. Her exceptional ability to harmonise horse and rider ensures they achieve their best together. With a unique talent for connecting with horses and training them with care and precision, Rachael is a standout figure in the world of dressage.
